h3cFdmiHbaPortSupportedFC4Type

Module: H3C-FDMI-MIB

OID (symbolic): H3C-FDMI-MIB::h3cFdmiHbaPortSupportedFC4Type

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.10.2.127.7.1.1.2.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-only

Description: The supported FC-4 types attribute registered for this port on this VSAN. This is an array of 256 bits (32 bytes). The order of the bits in the 256-bit (32-byte) value is represented in network-byte order. If no FC-4 types has been registered, then the value of this object is the zero-length string.

What is h3cFdmiHbaPortSupportedFC4Type?

This OCTET STRING is a 256-bit (32-byte) bitmap, in network-byte order, of the FC-4 upper-layer protocol types this HBA port has registered as supporting; a zero-length value means no FC-4 types were registered. An admin or fabric management tool inspects this bitmap to confirm a port advertises support for a required protocol, such as FCP for SCSI-over-Fibre-Channel, before provisioning storage to it. For example, a bit set for FCP in this map confirms the port can carry block storage traffic, while an all-zero-length value would flag a port that never completed FC-4 registration.
