Description: H3C MIB for Wireless Intrusion Detection System (WIDS) detecting rogue APs and wireless security threats.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is H3C-DOT11-WIDS-MIB?
H3C-DOT11-WIDS-MIB is a Hangzhou H3C Technologies proprietary MIB (built on H3C-DOT11-REF-MIB) configuring WIDS (Wireless Intrusion Detection Sensor), which detects rogue APs, rogue stations, and wireless attacks. Its objects cover WIDS scan mode/channel list, containment-measure mode, device aging time, dynamic-blacklist enable/lifetime, flood/spoof/weak-IV attack-detection enables, reset actions for rogue history, statistics, and various block-list categories, flood interval, blacklist threshold, SSID/BSSID filter on/off flags, and a permitted-vendor table. As a configuration/security MIB it lets an administrator confirm rogue-AP detection settings and clear detection history on an H3C wireless controller. It is deployed on H3C (Hangzhou) wireless LAN controllers (WIDS). Engineers can download the H3C-DOT11-WIDS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in H3C-DOT11-WIDS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- H3C (Hangzhou) wireless LAN controllers (WIDS)
Monitoring Examples
An administrator checks h3cDot11FloodAtkDctEnable and h3cDot11WidsBlackListThreshold to confirm wireless intrusion-detection settings on an H3C wireless controller.
What Can Be Monitored
- rogue-AP/attack detection configuration and detection history

| h3cDot11WIDS | 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.10.2.75.5 | This MIB provides information about WIDS feature. GLOSSARY Wireless Intrusion Detection Sensor (WIDS) WIDS is designed to be employed in an area that is serviced by an existing wireless network. It aids in the early detection of malicious outsider attacks and intrusions via wireless networks. Rogue AP A rogue access point is any Wi-Fi access point connected to the network without authorization. As it is not authorized, if there is any weakness in the AP, the hacker will have chance to compromise the network. Rogue Station It is similiar to Rogue AP, while it is a station. Monitor AP An AP will scan or listen to the air, and try to detect wireless attack in the network. Some AP products will work only in monitor role, while some AP products could switch between normal AP role (only provide wireless access service)and monitor AP role. Ad Hoc Mode Station could work under Ad hoc mode, then they could directly do peer-to-peer communication without other device support. | ||
