h3cDiskPowerOffReason

Module: H3C-DISK-MIB

OID (symbolic): H3C-DISK-MIB::h3cDiskPowerOffReason

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.10.10.3.1.1.1.14

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: This object describes the reason of disk poweroff. The value 'environmentUnstable' means disk poweroff and may poweron again. The value 'mediumError' means disk poweroff and never poweron. The value 'smartCheckError' means disk's SMART check failed and poweroff. The value 'generalError' means disk poweroff because of general error.

What is h3cDiskPowerOffReason?

This read-only value reports why a disk was powered off: environmentUnstable(1) means it may power back on once conditions stabilize, mediumError(2) means it will never power back on due to a media fault, smartCheckError(3) means its SMART self-check failed, and generalError(4) covers other general faults. Admins use it to triage a powered-off drive without needing to physically inspect it first, distinguishing a transient environmental issue from a permanent hardware failure. For example, seeing mediumError(2) tells an admin this disk needs to be physically replaced rather than waiting for it to automatically recover.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.10.10.3.1.1.1.14
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> H3C-DISK-MIB::h3cDiskPowerOffReason

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.10.10.3.1.1.1.14.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> H3C-DISK-MIB::h3cDiskPowerOffReason.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> h3cDiskPowerOffReason.1
