gsEPowerControlMode

Module: GIGAswitchEthernet-MIB

OID (symbolic): GIGAswitchEthernet-MIB::gsEPowerControlMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.36.2.18.39.3.3.3.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Normally, a module power mode is enable(1).

In the event of a power supply failure resulting in a power shortage, or in the event of this module being inserted without enough available power, the mode will be poweredDown(3). Setting this object to the value of poweredDown(3) will result in an error.

When enough power is available, the module will power back up when in this mode. A module may be powered down through administrative action by setting the value of this object to disable(2). In this mode, the module will remain powered down until the mode is set back to enable.

What is gsEPowerControlMode?

Reports/controls whether this module is powered up: normally enable(1); it shows poweredDown(3) automatically if a power shortage forced it off (attempting to set poweredDown(3) directly is rejected). Admins can force a module off by setting disable(2), e.g. to free up power budget for higher-priority modules, and it powers back up automatically once returned to enable(1) and capacity allows.
