This read-write setting controls whether an AIS (Alarm Indication Signal) condition on the T1 line (line 5) activates the chassis's Major alarm bus, Minor alarm bus, or is disabled. An admin uses this to decide how loudly an AIS condition should be escalated on the backplane alarm system.
