Description: Selects if the unit provides system timing. none(1) - does not provide Timing Generator primary(2) - unit is primary Timing Generator for the shelf. secondary(3) - unit is secondary Timig Generator for the shelf.
Only 1 unit in the shelf can the primary or secondary timing generator. All other must be none.
What is uas7616SysTimingGen?
This read-write setting controls whether the unit acts as the shelf's primary, secondary, or no system timing generator; only one unit in a shelf may be primary and only one may be secondary, all others must be set to none. An admin misconfiguring two units as primary would create a timing conflict on the shelf, so this value is checked carefully during provisioning.
