gBondEthTcAdminType

Module: GBOND-ETH-MIB

OID (symbolic): GBOND-ETH-MIB::gBondEthTcAdminType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.211.2.1.1.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: GBondEthPtmTcType

Access: read-write

Description: Administrative (desired) PTM-TC encapsulation type of G.Bond/Eth port (GBS). Possible values are: tc6465(1) - 64/65-octet encapsulation tcHDLC(2) - HDLC encapsulation Attempts to set a port to a non-supported PTM-TC encapsulation type (see gBondEthTcTypesSupported) SHALL be rejected.

Changing gBondEthTcAdminType is a traffic disruptive operation and as such SHALL be done when the link is Down. Attempts to cange this object SHALL be rejected if the link is Up or Initializing.

This object maps to the WT-159 attribute aEthTcAdminType.

This object MUST be maintained in a persistent manner.

What is gBondEthTcAdminType?

This read-write value sets the administratively desired PTM-TC encapsulation type for a G.Bond/Ethernet port (GBS): tc6465(1) for 64/65-octet encapsulation or tcHDLC(2) for HDLC encapsulation, per WT-159 attribute aEthTcAdminType; attempts to select an unsupported type (per gBondEthTcTypesSupported) are rejected, and the change is traffic-disruptive so it is only allowed while the link is down. Admins set this to choose which framing method a bonded Ethernet port uses, and must first bring the link down before changing it. For example, setting it to tcHDLC(2) switches the port to HDLC encapsulation, but only succeeds if the link is currently down and the port supports that mode.
