gBondEthInOverflows

Module: GBOND-ETH-MIB

OID (symbolic): GBOND-ETH-MIB::gBondEthInOverflows

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.211.2.1.1.3.1.9

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter32

Access: read-only

Description: A number of fragments, received across the gamma interface and discarded, which would have caused the frame assembly buffer to overflow.

This object maps to the WT-159 attribute aEthRxOverflows.

Discontinuities in the value of this counter can occur at re-initialization of the management system, and at other times as indicated by the value of ifCounterDiscontinuityTime, defined in IF-MIB.

What is gBondEthInOverflows?

This counter tracks fragments received across the gamma interface and discarded because they would have overflowed the frame assembly buffer, per WT-159 attribute aEthRxOverflows, and can experience discontinuities at re-initialization. Admins monitor this to detect when incoming fragment volume is exceeding the reassembly buffer's capacity. For example, a rising overflow count suggests the bonded link's buffer is undersized for the current fragment rate, or that fragments are arriving faster than they can be reassembled.
