gBondEthInBadFragments

Module: GBOND-ETH-MIB

OID (symbolic): GBOND-ETH-MIB::gBondEthInBadFragments

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.211.2.1.1.3.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter32

Access: read-only

Description: A number of fragments which do not fit into the sequence expected by the frame assembly function, that have been received across the gamma interface and discarded (the frame buffer is flushed to the next valid frame start).

This object maps to the WT-159 attribute aEthRxBadFragments.

Discontinuities in the value of this counter can occur at re-initialization of the management system, and at other times as indicated by the value of ifCounterDiscontinuityTime, defined in IF-MIB.

What is gBondEthInBadFragments?

This counter tracks the number of fragments that don't fit the sequence expected by the frame assembly function, discarded with the frame buffer flushed to the next valid frame start, per WT-159 attribute aEthRxBadFragments, and can experience discontinuities at re-initialization. Admins monitor this to detect fragment reassembly errors on the bonded Ethernet link that force the receiver to resynchronize. For example, a rising count suggests fragment sequencing problems, possibly from a noisy or degraded bonded pair.
