If the first sample after this entry becomes valid is less than or equal to the fallingThreshold and alarmStartupAlarm is equal to fallingAlarm(2) or risingOrFallingAlarm(3), then a single falling alarm will be generated.

This object may not be modified if the associated alarmStatus object is equal to valid(1).

What is rAlarmStartupAlarm?

This read-write enumerated value (risingAlarm/fallingAlarm/risingOrFallingAlarm) controls whether a one-time alarm fires based on the very first sample taken right after this entry becomes valid. Admins use this to get immediate notification if a newly-armed threshold is already being crossed on activation.
