snOspfIf2RtrPriority

Module: FOUNDRY-SN-OSPF-GROUP-MIB

OID (symbolic): FOUNDRY-SN-OSPF-GROUP-MIB::snOspfIf2RtrPriority

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1991.1.2.4.4.2.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DesignatedRouterPriority

Access: read-write

Description: The priority of this interface. Used in multi-access networks, this field is used in the designated router election algorithm. The value 0 signifies that the router is not eligible to become the designated router on this particular network. In the event of a tie in this value, routers will use their router id as a tie breaker.

What is snOspfIf2RtrPriority?

This current interface's priority in the designated-router (DR) election on a shared-media network; 0 makes the router ineligible to become DR or BDR, and ties are broken by router ID. This is the active interface table that replaced the deprecated snOspfIf table. Admins raise this value on the router they want to preferentially win the DR role, e.g. a dedicated core switch on a large Ethernet segment.
