bfdSessReqMinRxInterval

Module: FOUNDRY-BFD-STD-MIB

OID (symbolic): FOUNDRY-BFD-STD-MIB::bfdSessReqMinRxInterval

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1991.3.3.1.1.2.1.16

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: BfdInterval

Access: read-create

Description: This object specifies the minimum interval, in microseconds, between received BFD Control packets the local system is capable of supporting.

What is bfdSessReqMinRxInterval?

This value, in microseconds, declares the fastest rate at which this system is willing to receive BFD Control packets from its peer during a Bidirectional Forwarding Detection session. An admin tunes this to control how aggressively BFD monitors link or path liveness -- a smaller interval enables faster failure detection but uses more CPU and bandwidth, while a larger one eases resource use but slows detection. Setting this to 50000 (50 milliseconds) would tell the BFD peer this system can accept Control packets no more frequently than every 50ms.
