Description:

Trap sent for diagnostic purposes by an administrator.

What is fnTrapTest?

This is a test notification (SNMP trap) that an administrator can trigger manually to verify that the device's trap mechanism is working correctly. It includes the device serial number and hostname so the recipient knows which device sent the test alert. A system administrator would trigger this after configuring SNMP monitoring to confirm the notification path is operational.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):
