A temperature sensor on the device has exceeded its threshold. Not all devices have thermal sensors. See manual for specifications.

What is fnTrapTempHigh?

This OID is a trap that the device sends when a temperature sensor exceeds its safe threshold. Not all devices have thermal sensors; check the manual for details. A network operator would receive this alert if the device is overheating, indicating they should check cooling fans, airflow, or reduce the device workload to prevent shutdown.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' FORTINET-CORE-MIB::fnTrapTempHigh
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.12356.100.1.3.0.104

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:
