Description: This attribute reflects the status of the Auto/Manual switch which defines the working mode of FIBRONICS sensors. In the MANUAL mode no set operations may be performed on attributes related to the sensor. The sensor works according to configuration switches set by hardware and transmits all configuration information to the agent. In the AUTO mode, hardware switches are overridden by set commands.
What is genGroupAutoMan?
Reports the position of the module's Auto/Manual hardware switch: auto(1) means set operations override hardware DIP-switch settings, man(2) means the hardware switches govern configuration and no sets on sensor-related attributes are allowed. An admin encountering unexpected write failures on a module's attributes checks this first to see if it's stuck in man(2) mode.
