agentMulticastPIMSMRegThresholdRate

Module: FASTPATH-MULTICAST-MIB

OID (symbolic): FASTPATH-MULTICAST-MIB::agentMulticastPIMSMRegThresholdRate

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.5000.2.6132.1.1.4.3.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: Specifies the minimum rate in Kbits/sec for the RP to switch to the shortest path.

What is agentMulticastPIMSMRegThresholdRate?

This read-write Integer32, in Kbits/sec (default 50), specifies the minimum multicast data rate at which the Rendezvous Point (RP) will switch to the shortest-path tree toward the source instead of continuing to receive registered traffic. Admins tune it to reduce encapsulation overhead at the RP once a multicast stream is heavy enough to justify a direct shortest path. Setting agentMulticastPIMSMRegThresholdRate to 100 causes the RP to switch to the source tree once that group's rate passes 100 Kbit/s.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.5000.2.6132.1.1.4.3.3
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> FASTPATH-MULTICAST-MIB::agentMulticastPIMSMRegThresholdRate

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.5000.2.6132.1.1.4.3.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> FASTPATH-MULTICAST-MIB::agentMulticastPIMSMRegThresholdRate.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.5000.2.6132.1.1.4.3.3.1 i <value>
