agentMulticastPIMSMDataThresholdRate

Module: FASTPATH-MULTICAST-MIB

OID (symbolic): FASTPATH-MULTICAST-MIB::agentMulticastPIMSMDataThresholdRate

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.5000.2.6132.1.1.4.3.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: Specifies the minimum rate in Kbits/sec for the last hop router to initiate switching to the shortest path.

What is agentMulticastPIMSMDataThresholdRate?

This read-write Integer32, in Kbits/sec (default 50), specifies the minimum multicast data rate at which the last-hop router will switch from the shared tree to the shortest-path tree back to the source. Admins tune it to control how aggressively the router optimizes multicast delivery paths versus how much extra (S,G) state it builds. Setting agentMulticastPIMSMDataThresholdRate to 200 means the last-hop router only switches to the source-specific shortest path once a group's traffic exceeds 200 Kbit/s.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.5000.2.6132.1.1.4.3.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> FASTPATH-MULTICAST-MIB::agentMulticastPIMSMDataThresholdRate

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.5000.2.6132.1.1.4.3.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> FASTPATH-MULTICAST-MIB::agentMulticastPIMSMDataThresholdRate.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.5000.2.6132.1.1.4.3.2.1 i <value>
