agentResCtlDefDomainName

Module: FASTPATH-DNS-RESOLVER-CONTROL-MIB

OID (symbolic): FASTPATH-DNS-RESOLVER-CONTROL-MIB::agentResCtlDefDomainName

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.5000.2.6132.1.1.37.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-write

Description: The default domain name for unqualified hostnames.

What is agentResCtlDefDomainName?

This read-write octet string, up to 255 bytes, is the default domain name appended to unqualified hostnames when the device performs DNS lookups. An admin sets this so that when a user or configuration references a bare hostname like "server1" instead of a fully-qualified name, the resolver automatically appends this domain to complete the query. For example, setting agentResCtlDefDomainName to "example.com" means a lookup for "server1" resolves as "server1.example.com".

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> FASTPATH-DNS-RESOLVER-CONTROL-MIB::agentResCtlDefDomainName

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.5000.2.6132.1.1.37.1.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> FASTPATH-DNS-RESOLVER-CONTROL-MIB::agentResCtlDefDomainName.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.5000.2.6132.1.1.37.1.1.2.1 s <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> agentResCtlDefDomainName.1
