Description: The dns client administrative modes supported by the device. The dns client services can be turned on or off.

What is agentResCtlAdminMode?

This read-write TruthValue turns the device's DNS client, or resolver, service on or off. An admin disables it when DNS resolution isn't needed or desired on the device, such as for security hardening or when static IPs are preferred, and re-enables it when hostname-based configuration is needed. For example, an admin who wants the device to always require static IP addresses rather than resolving hostnames would set agentResCtlAdminMode to false to disable the DNS client.
