What is bigipNodeRate?

This OID generates an alert when a backend server exceeds its configured traffic rate limit. Rate limits protect overloaded servers from excessive requests. An operator receives this alert and uses it to trigger load rebalancing or to investigate why one server is receiving disproportionate traffic.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' F5-BIGIP-COMMON-MIB::bigipNodeRate
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.3375.2.4.0.130

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
