Description: The aggressive reaper state changed. Aggressive reaper state changes indicate the system is moving into distress-mode for DOS prevention.

What is bigipAggrReaperStateChange?

This SNMP trap is generated when the aggressive memory reaper process on an F5 BIG-IP load balancer changes state, signaling that the system is entering or exiting denial-of-service mitigation mode. The aggressive reaper frees memory aggressively by terminating connections under extreme memory pressure, protecting the system from becoming unresponsive. Operators use these notifications to understand when the system experiences distress conditions.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' F5-BIGIP-COMMON-MIB::bigipAggrReaperStateChange
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.3375.2.4.0.22

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
