An indication that the agent is in the process of being shut down.

What is bigipAgentShutdown?

This notification is sent by an F5 BIG-IP device when its SNMP agent is in the process of shutting down, alerting the management station that monitoring communication will end. An operator receives this trap to understand that the device or agent is going offline, either for maintenance or reboot. This allows the NMS to take appropriate action such as acknowledging the shutdown or escalating an alert.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' F5-BIGIP-COMMON-MIB::bigipAgentShutdown
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.3375.2.4.0.2

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
