Description: The number of times the request is retransmitted. The request is retransmitted provided the maximum timeout value allows this many number of retransmits.
What is agentResCtlRequestRetransmits?
This read-write value, from 0 to 100 with a default of 2, sets how many times the device retransmits a DNS request, subject to the overall request timeout allowing that many retries. An admin increases this on an unreliable network path to DNS servers to improve resolution success at the cost of longer worst-case resolution time. For example, raising this object above its default of 2 on a lossy WAN link would give DNS queries more chances to succeed before the resolver gives up.
