OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1916.1.26.4.2.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: InetAddress

Access: read-write

Description: IP address to use as the SRC address when contacting the the radius/tacas server. The radius/tacas server should be configured with this address as one of its clients. The switch should have a VLAN with this IP address.

What is extremeAuthServerClientAddress?

This is the source IP address the switch uses when sending packets to its configured RADIUS or TACACS+ server. Since the AAA server is typically configured to only accept requests from known client addresses, this value must match one of the switch's own VLAN IP addresses. Setting this to 172.16.0.1 ensures authentication requests appear to come from that address, matching the client entry configured on the RADIUS server.
