tcpipUsingNetProtocols

Module: ESI-MIB

OID (symbolic): ESI-MIB::tcpipUsingNetProtocols

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.683.6.3.1.4.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: A value of 2 indicates that the print server is using a combination of RARP, BOOTP, default IP address, or gleaning to determine its IP address.

See tcpipBootProtocolsEnabled to determine which boot protocols are enabled. If the value of tcpipUsingNetProtocols is 1, the IP address is stored permanently in flash memory.

In order for changes to this variable to take effect, the print server must be reset. See cmdReset to do this.

What is tcpipUsingNetProtocols?

A yes/no flag: yes(2) means the print server is deriving its IP address dynamically via RARP/BOOTP/DHCP/gleaning/default rather than using a fixed address stored in flash. See tcpipBootProtocolsEnabled to control which specific mechanisms are tried.
