snmpSetCommunityName

Module: ESI-MIB

OID (symbolic): ESI-MIB::snmpSetCommunityName

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.683.3.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DisplayString

Access: read-write

Description: Set community name for the managed node. This value cannot be read, just set.

In order for changes to this variable to take effect, the print server must be reset. See cmdReset to do this.

What is snmpSetCommunityName?

The write (SET) community string used to authenticate SNMP configuration changes; per its own description it "cannot be read, just set," so a GET always returns an empty or unreadable value. As with snmpGetCommunityName, the print server must be reset via cmdReset before a new value takes effect.
