errStatusLastIndex

Module: ERR-STATUS-MIB

OID (symbolic): ERR-STATUS-MIB::errStatusLastIndex

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.910.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: This is the SNMP request Id value in the SNMP PDU. If at least one entry exists in the errStatusTable for the given manager, the value of this object contains the index value(errReqId value)corresponding to the last entry(latest snmp request for which SET failed).

If no entry exists in the errStatusTable for the given manager, then the value of this object is -1.

SNMP managers can read this object and is use it for getting the Error Status Information of the last SNMP SET request failed.

What is errStatusLastIndex?

This reports the index, matching an errReqId value, of the most recent failed SNMP SET request recorded in the device's error-status table, or -1 if no failures have been logged for this manager. An SNMP manager polls this to quickly find the latest failed-SET entry without scanning the whole errStatusTable, letting it fetch the associated error details in one lookup. A value of 5 here tells the manager to look up entry index 5 in errStatusTable to see details of the most recent failed configuration attempt.
