eqSonetApsProtectByteFailure

Module: EQUIPE-TRAP-MIB

OID (symbolic): EQUIPE-TRAP-MIB::eqSonetApsProtectByteFailure

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5022.4.5.2.6

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description: This trap indicates that the protection line has declared a protection byte failure. If the protection line was carrying any user traffic, it is switched over to the working line.

eqTrapDescr provides a textual description for this trap. eqModuleShelfId is the shelf id in which the sonet port is located. eqModuleSlotId is the (shelf-relative) slot id in which the sonet port is located. ifIndex is the eid of the sonet port. eqIfName is the name of the physical sonet port.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' EQUIPE-TRAP-MIB::eqSonetApsProtectByteFailure
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.5022.4.5.2.6

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:64368->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
  DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (144160624) 16 days, 16:26:46.24
  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: EQUIPE-TRAP-MIB::eqSonetApsProtectByteFailure
