etsysRip2ExtTriggeredDelayMax

Module: ENTERASYS-RIPv2-EXT-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-RIPv2-EXT-MIB::etsysRip2ExtTriggeredDelayMax

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.66.1.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-write

Description: The upper bound of the random time period that RIP waits between sending Triggered Updates.

A change to this value takes effect after the next Triggered Update is sent.

This value MUST be greater than etsysRip2ExtTriggeredDelayMin.

What is etsysRip2ExtTriggeredDelayMax?

This sets, in seconds, the maximum bound of the randomized delay RIP waits before sending a triggered update after a route change. Admins tune this, together with the minimum delay, to spread out triggered updates across a small random window and avoid many routers sending updates simultaneously. This value must stay above etsysRip2ExtTriggeredDelayMin, so with the default of 5 seconds, RIP's triggered updates fire somewhere between 1 and 5 seconds after a route change.

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.66.1.1.6
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ENTERASYS-RIPv2-EXT-MIB::etsysRip2ExtTriggeredDelayMax

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.66.1.1.6.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ENTERASYS-RIPv2-EXT-MIB::etsysRip2ExtTriggeredDelayMax.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.66.1.1.6.1 i <value>
