Module: ENTERASYS-RIPv2-EXT-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-RIPv2-EXT-MIB::etsysRip2ExtRouteFlushInterval

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.66.1.1.9

Description: The period from the point of route expiry that a route is finally removed from the routing table, also known as the 'garbage collection time'.

This period is expressed as a multiple of the etsysRip2ExtRouteCheckInterval.

A change to this value takes effect at the next scheduled route check.

What is etsysRip2ExtRouteFlushInterval?

This sets how long, as a multiple of the route check interval, an expired RIP route stays in the routing table before it is finally removed entirely, the garbage collection time. Admins tune this to control how long a stale route lingers, still potentially usable, after being marked expired but before being purged. With the default of 120, an expired RIP route remains in the table for 2 more minutes after expiry before RIP finally flushes it out completely.
