etsysPkiCertNearingExpirationNotification

Module: ENTERASYS-PKI-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-PKI-MIB::etsysPkiCertNearingExpirationNotification

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.101.1.0.1

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description: Certificate nearing expiration.

The managed entity will send this notification when an installed PKI Certificate is nearing expiration. The entity will resend this notification periodically until the certificate is removed from configuration.

Note that an expired certificate will be automatically rejected by the PKI authentication process. If an expired certificate is not replaced by a newer certificate, then any authentication attempt which uses the expired certificate will fail.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' ENTERASYS-PKI-MIB::etsysPkiCertNearingExpirationNotification
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.101.1.0.1

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:57667->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
  DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (275373379) 31 days, 20:55:33.79
  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: ENTERASYS-PKI-MIB::etsysPkiCertNearingExpirationNotification
