etsysMstpPortAdminPathCost

Module: ENTERASYS-MSTP-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-MSTP-MIB::etsysMstpPortAdminPathCost

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.28.1.3.1.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-write

Description: The administratively assigned value for the contribution of this port to the path cost of paths towards the root of the corresponding Spanning Tree instance.

Writing a value of '0' assigns the automatically calculated default Path Cost value to the port for this instance. If the default Path Cost is being used, this object returns '0' when read.

This complements the object etsysMstpPortOperPathCost, which returns the operational value of the path cost.

What is etsysMstpPortAdminPathCost?

Lets an admin manually override the port's contribution to path cost toward the root for this MST instance; writing 0 restores the automatically calculated default, and the value actually in effect is reported separately in etsysMstpPortOperPathCost.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.28.1.3.1.1.4
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ENTERASYS-MSTP-MIB::etsysMstpPortAdminPathCost

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.28.1.3.1.1.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ENTERASYS-MSTP-MIB::etsysMstpPortAdminPathCost.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.28.1.3.1.1.4.1 i <value>
