etsysLinkFlapSystemLinkFlapMaximum

Module: ENTERASYS-LINK-FLAP-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-LINK-FLAP-MIB::etsysLinkFlapSystemLinkFlapMaximum

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.52.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-only

Description: The greatest number of linkdown events which can occur per ten second interval. This is an implementation-specific parameter which will determine the allowable values of etsysLinkFlapIntfCountThreshold and etsysLinkFlapIntfTimeInterval. Setting either one of these such that the ratio of etsysLinkFlapIntfCountThreshold to etsysLinkFlapIntfTimeInterval would become greater than etsysLinkFlapSystemLinkFlapMaximum will result in the set operation failing with an inconsistentValue error.

What is etsysLinkFlapSystemLinkFlapMaximum?

This read-only unsigned integer reports the greatest number of linkdown events the platform can detect per ten-second interval, an implementation-specific ceiling on Link Flap sensitivity. Admins use it to understand the valid range for etsysLinkFlapIntfCountThreshold and etsysLinkFlapIntfTimeInterval, since setting those such that their ratio exceeds this maximum causes the set operation to fail with an inconsistentValue error. For example, if this value reads 10, an admin cannot configure a threshold-to-interval ratio of 20 flaps per 10 seconds on any interface.
