etsysLinkFlapIntfTimeInterval

Module: ENTERASYS-LINK-FLAP-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-LINK-FLAP-MIB::etsysLinkFlapIntfTimeInterval

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.52.1.2.1.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-write

Description: The time period during which link state transitions accrue toward the threshold count etsysLinkFlapIntfCountThreshold. Setting etsysLinkFlapIntfTimeInterval such that the ratio of etsysLinkFlapIntfCountThreshold to etsysLinkFlapIntfTimeInterval would become greater than etsysLinkFlapSystemLinkFlapMaximum will result in the set operation failing with an inconsistentValue error. Note that one special value, 0 (zero) of the etsysLinkFlapIntfTimeInterval is used to specify that etsysLinkFlapIntfTimeInterval is unbounded. Maintaining the value of this object across agent reboots is REQUIRED

What is etsysLinkFlapIntfTimeInterval?

This read-write value, in seconds, defines the window over which link state transitions accumulate toward the etsysLinkFlapIntfCountThreshold on this interface. Admins adjust it together with the threshold to control how quickly Link Flap reacts to unstable links, with a value of 0 meaning the interval is treated as unbounded. For example, the default of 10 seconds paired with a threshold of 5 means the interface must flap 5 times inside any rolling 10-second window to trip the feature.
