etsysLinkFlapIntfOperStatus

Module: ENTERASYS-LINK-FLAP-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-LINK-FLAP-MIB::etsysLinkFlapIntfOperStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.52.1.2.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The current status of the interface with respect to Link Flap detection.

A read of operational(1) indicates that the Link Flap feature has not taken any action to operationally limit this interface.

A read of disabled(2) indicates that the Link Flap feature has taken action to operationally disable this interface due to excessive link state transitions.

Setting this object to operational(1) when it is disabled(2) will cause Link Flap to release its control which is keeping this interface operationally disabled. Any other write of this object will have no effect.

Maintaining the value of this object across agent reboots is NOT RECOMMENDED.

What is etsysLinkFlapIntfOperStatus?

This read-write value reports whether Link Flap has left the interface operational(1) or has forced it into the disabled(2) state due to excessive link state transitions. Admins read it to see at a glance which ports Link Flap has shut down, and can write operational(1) to release the interface and let it return to its normal link state. For example, after replacing a faulty patch cable that was causing flapping, an admin would set this object back to operational(1) to bring the port back into service.
