etsysLinkFlapIntfEnabledStatus

Module: ENTERASYS-LINK-FLAP-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-LINK-FLAP-MIB::etsysLinkFlapIntfEnabledStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.52.1.2.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The enable state of Link Flap on this interface.

Transitioning from enabled(1) to disabled(2) will disable the active part of the Link Flap feature as defined for the etsysLinkFlapSystemState object on this interface. In this event the agent MUST:

1) Release its control on this interface. If the interface had been operationally held in the 'down' state, then the interface MUST be allowed to attain its currently correct operational state.

2) etsysLinkFlapIntfOperStatus MUST be set to operational(1).

3) The objects

etsysLinkFlapIntfLinkdownCountCurrent etsysLinkFlapIntfLinkdownCountTotal etsysLinkFlapIntfCurrentElapsed

MUST continue to accrue value as events occur.

In transitioning from disabled(2) to enabled(1) the objects:

etsysLinkFlapIntfLinkdownCountCurrent etsysLinkFlapIntfCurrentElapsed

MUST be initialized at 0 (zero) for this interface.

Maintaining the value of this object across agent reboots is REQUIRED.

What is etsysLinkFlapIntfEnabledStatus?

This read-write value enables or disables the Link Flap feature on this specific interface, independent of the global etsysLinkFlapSystemState setting. Admins use it to exempt individual ports, such as ones known to be unstable for a valid reason, from flap protection while leaving it active elsewhere, and switching it off forces the port's operational status back to normal if Link Flap had disabled it. For example, an admin might set this to disabled(2) on a test-lab port that is intentionally cycled up and down frequently, so it is never shut down by the feature.

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ENTERASYS-LINK-FLAP-MIB::etsysLinkFlapIntfEnabledStatus.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.52.1.2.1.1.1.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> etsysLinkFlapIntfEnabledStatus.1
