etsysLinkFlapIntfDownTime

Module: ENTERASYS-LINK-FLAP-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-LINK-FLAP-MIB::etsysLinkFlapIntfDownTime

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.52.1.2.1.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-write

Description: The time period during which the violating interface operational status may be held to 'down' by the LinkFlap functionality. Note that one special value, 0 (zero) of the etsysLinkFlapIntfDownTime is used to specify that etsysLinkFlapIntfDownTime is unbounded. Maintaining the value of this object across agent reboots is REQUIRED

What is etsysLinkFlapIntfDownTime?

This read-write value, in seconds, sets how long a violating interface may be held operationally down by the Link Flap feature before it can recover. Admins configure it to control the penalty duration for flapping ports, with a value of 0 meaning the interface stays down indefinitely until manually released. For example, the default of 300 seconds means a port disabled for excessive flapping will remain down for five minutes before Link Flap allows it to come back up.
