etsysLinkFlapIntfClearStats

Module: ENTERASYS-LINK-FLAP-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-LINK-FLAP-MIB::etsysLinkFlapIntfClearStats

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.52.1.2.1.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: When set to true(1) the following objects:

etsysLinkFlapIntfLinkdownCountCurrent etsysLinkFlapIntfLinkdownCountTotal etsysLinkFlapIntfLinkFlapViolations

in this row of the etsysLinkFlapInterfaceTable MUST be set to 0 (zero).

Setting this object to false(2) will have no effect. When read this object will always return false(2). Maintaining the value of this object across agent reboots is NOT RECOMMENDED.

What is etsysLinkFlapIntfClearStats?

This truth value, when set to true(1), resets the linkdown count, total linkdown count, and violation counters for this interface's row back to zero; it always reads back as false(2). Admins use it to clear historical flap statistics after resolving a cabling or hardware issue, so subsequent monitoring reflects only new activity rather than a skewed baseline. For example, after swapping out a failing transceiver that had caused dozens of recorded violations, an admin would set this to true(1) to start counting fresh.
