etsysEthOamExtUldPortMode

Module: ENTERASYS-ETH-OAM-EXT-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-ETH-OAM-EXT-MIB::etsysEthOamExtUldPortMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.78.1.3.2.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This value defines the mode in which OAM Unidirectional Link Detection (ULD) will operate on the port. If disabled, OAM ULD will not operate on the port. In standard mode, OAM will use the standard OAM Discovery state machine to detect a unidirectional link. In fast mode, OAM will use the Enterasys Fast ULD state machine to detect a unidirectional link. In both standard and fast modes, OAM peers must be fully discovered before ULD is active. In standard mode, a unidirectional link is detected after 5 seconds of becoming unidirectional. In fast mode, a unidirectional link is detected in 3 times the active fast timer interval (as fast as 600ms).

What is etsysEthOamExtUldPortMode?

Selects how Unidirectional Link Detection runs on this port: disabled(1, the default), standard(2, using the OAM Discovery state machine and detecting a fault after 5 seconds), or fast(3, using Enterasys's Fast ULD state machine to detect a fault in as little as 600ms). An admin enables fast mode on links where a quick failover matters, such as an uplink in a redundant topology.
