etsysEntityTempSensorCoolTemp

Module: ENTERASYS-ENTITY-SENSOR-MIB-EXT-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-ENTITY-SENSOR-MIB-EXT-MIB::etsysEntityTempSensorCoolTemp

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.85.1.1.1.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: EntitySensorValue

Access: read-only

Description: The temperature value below which the ambient temperature is deemed to be cool, if it is above or equal the cold value.

To correctly interpret the value of this object, the associated entPhySensorType, entPhySensorScale, and entPhySensorPrecision objects must also be examined.

What is etsysEntityTempSensorCoolTemp?

etsysEntityTempSensorCoolTemp is the temperature value below which this entity's ambient temperature is deemed to be cool, provided it's still above or equal to the cold value, per its description. An admin uses this as the mirror-image low-side threshold to etsysEntityTempSensorWarmTemp, useful for catching a device running unusually cold, such as after being powered on in an unheated space. For example, if this object is set to 10, a reading of 8 degrees would move etsysEntityTempSensorState to cool(3) as long as it stays at or above the cold threshold.
