Module: ENTERASYS-CONFIGURATION-MANAGEMENT-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-CONFIGURATION-MANAGEMENT-MIB::etsysConfigMgmtChangeSupportedOperations

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.16.2.5

Type: ConfigMgmtOperations

Access: read-only

Description: Configuration change operations that are supported on this managed entity. A managed entity should provide support only for the options that make sense given the capabilities of the entity and the desired level of manageability.

What is etsysConfigMgmtChangeSupportedOperations?

This read-only ConfigMgmtOperations BITS value lists which configuration-management operations (such as imageDownload, configurationActivate, configurationPersist, or validationMD5sum) this particular entity supports, since a manufacturer implements only the subset appropriate to the device's capabilities. Admins inspect this before writing an etsysConfigMgmtChangeOperation request, because requesting an unsupported operation causes the entire change request to fail immediately. For example, a device lacking a user file system would omit the imageSetSelected and imageGetSelected bits, so an admin scripting boot-image selection would need a different mechanism on that hardware.
