etsysActivationKeyRestrictions

Module: ENTERASYS-ACTIVATION-MIB

OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-ACTIVATION-MIB::etsysActivationKeyRestrictions

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.99999.1.1.3.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: SnmpAdminString

Access: read-only

Description: If the activation key associated with this row is a demo key, this MIB object may contain a human-readable string describing the key's restrictions, expiration conditions, and/or status.

A demo key that enables several features could, at least theoretically, have different conditions for each.

Platforms may automatically enforce expirations, but are not guaranteed to do so. It is ultimately the system manager's responsibility to clean up expired keys.

For a key that has no restrictions, this object's value may consist of the empty string, or of whitespace.

What is etsysActivationKeyRestrictions?

This read-only string, populated only for demo keys, describes the key's restrictions, expiration conditions, and/or status in human-readable text; a key with no restrictions may leave this empty or whitespace, and enforcement of expirations is not guaranteed by the platform. Admins read this to understand exactly what limitations apply to a demo activation key, since expiration isn't always automatically enforced. For example, this object might read "Expires 30 days after activation; limited to 8 ports" describing a demo key's specific restrictions.
