etsysDot1xRekeyPeriod
Module: ENTERASYS-8021X-REKEYING-MIB
OID (symbolic): ENTERASYS-8021X-REKEYING-MIB::etsysDot1xRekeyPeriod
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5624.1.2.17.1.1.1.1.2
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Unsigned32
Access: read-write
Description: When rapid rekeying (periodic changing of radio keys) is enabled, the value of this object determines the period, in seconds, between key changes.
What is etsysDot1xRekeyPeriod?
This value sets how often, in seconds, the access point generates and distributes new radio encryption keys once rapid rekeying is turned on. Administrators tune this interval to balance security against overhead -- a shorter period limits how long any single key stays valid and useful to an attacker, while a longer period reduces the rekeying traffic and processing load. For example, the default of 1800 seconds means keys would be refreshed automatically every 30 minutes.
