What is mcTrapSyncType?

This value classifies the kind of trap being sent, with defined values of 0 for a normal trap, 1 for a journal alarm entry, and 2 for an active alarm. Admins use it to distinguish routine alarm events from journal replay or currently-active alarm synchronization messages when processing trap streams. For example, a management station replaying history after a reconnect would expect a run of traps with sync type 1.
