eltMnFlappingNotificationsEnabled
Module: ELTEX-MES-eltMacNotification-MIB
OID (symbolic): ELTEX-MES-eltMacNotification-MIB::eltMnFlappingNotificationsEnabled
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.35265.1.23.1.7.1.1.2
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: TruthValue
Access: read-write
Description: Specifies whether eltMnFlappingNotification notifications will or will not be sent when a MAC flapping is detected by the MAC flapping notification feature.
Setting this object to false(2) will not send the eltMnFlappingNotification notifications.
Setting this object to true(1) will send the eltMnFlappingNotification notifications.
What is eltMnFlappingNotificationsEnabled?
This value controls whether eltMnFlappingNotification traps are actually sent whenever the MAC flapping feature detects flapping, defaulting to true. It lets an admin keep flapping detection active while suppressing the resulting trap notifications, for instance during a known noisy period. For example, setting it to false(2) would stop trap floods while flapping is still being detected and recorded locally.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.35265.1.23.1.7.1.1.2 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ELTEX-MES-eltMacNotification-MIB::eltMnFlappingNotificationsEnabled
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.35265.1.23.1.7.1.1.2.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ELTEX-MES-eltMacNotification-MIB::eltMnFlappingNotificationsEnabled.1
Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):
snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.35265.1.23.1.7.1.1.2.1 s <value>
SNMPv3 example:
snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> eltMnFlappingNotificationsEnabled.1
