dot3OamLoopbackIgnoreRx

Module: EFM-COMMON-MIB

OID (symbolic): EFM-COMMON-MIB::dot3OamLoopbackIgnoreRx

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.9908.1.3.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Since OAM loopback is a distruptive operation (user traffic does not pass), this attribute provides a mechanism to provide controls over whether received OAM loopback commands are processed or ignored. When the value is ignore(1), received loopback commands are ignored. When the value is process(2), OAM loopback commands are processed. The default value is to ignore loopback commands (ignore(1)).

The attribute has no meaning if the local OAM entity does not support the loopback function (as defined in dot3OamFunctionsSupported).

What is dot3OamLoopbackIgnoreRx?

Controls whether this device honors loopback requests from its OAM peer: ignore(1), the default, silently drops incoming loopback commands so a remote peer can't disrupt this device's traffic, while process(2) allows them to take effect; has no meaning if this device doesn't support the loopback function at all.
