nbsEthChnPossList

Module: ECHN-MIB

OID (symbolic): ECHN-MIB::nbsEthChnPossList

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.629.1.50.5.3.1.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-only

Description: Bitmap of ports that are possible for each Ethernet Channel. Each octet within the value of this object specifies a set of eight ports, with the first octet specifying ports 1 through 8, the second octet specifying ports 9 through 16, etc. Within each octet, the most significant bit represents the lowest numbered port, and the least significant bit represents the highest numbered port. Thus, each port of the switch is represented by a single bit within the value of this object. If that bit has a value of <1> then that port is included in the set of ports. The port is not included if its bit has a value of <0>.

What is nbsEthChnPossList?

This read-only octet-string bitmap uses one bit per port, across successive octets of eight ports each, to list which physical ports are eligible for inclusion in this particular candidate Ethernet Channel grouping. Admins consult it to know exactly which ports they may choose from when building an actual channel from this POSS table entry. For example, if only the bits for ports 9 through 16 are set, an admin building a channel from this entry may only pick member ports within that range.
