syslogAllowedHostsMaskLen
Module: DRAFT-IETF-SYSLOG-MIB
OID (symbolic): DRAFT-IETF-SYSLOG-MIB::syslogAllowedHostsMaskLen
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.999999.2.3.1.3
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Integer32
Access: read-create
Description: If the syslogAllowedHostsAddressType is ipv4(1), ipv6(2) this object represents the number of bits that will be taken into account when the address of the originating is being compared with syslogAllowedHostsAddress.
The default value of this MO will be the length of the corresponding syslogAllowedHostsAddress.
If the syslogAllowedHostsAddressType is not ipv4(1) or ipv6(2) this object is not used.
What is syslogAllowedHostsMaskLen?
For an ipv4 or ipv6 syslogAllowedHostsAddressType, this is the number of prefix bits used when comparing an incoming message's source address against syslogAllowedHostsAddress, defaulting to the address's full length. Lowering this lets you allow-list an entire subnet of log sources instead of one single host.
