Description: An object that reports the MPCP round trip time in increments of Time Quanta (TQ)-16ns. The value returned shall be (round trip time in ns)/16. If this value exceeds (2^16-1), the value (2^16-1) shall be returned. This object is applicable for an OLT and an ONU. At the OLT, it has a distinct value for each virtual interface.
What is dot3MpcpRoundTripTime?
This reports the measured MPCP round-trip time between OLT and ONU, in 16ns time-quanta units, capped at 65535 if it would overflow. Since RTT relates directly to fiber distance, admins use it to sanity-check that an ONU's measured distance matches its expected physical location on the PON.
