dot3ExtPkgOptIfUpperInputPowerThreshold
Module: DOT3-EPON-MIB
OID (symbolic): DOT3-EPON-MIB::dot3ExtPkgOptIfUpperInputPowerThreshold
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.155.1.4.1.5.1.6
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Integer32
Access: read-write
Description: The upper limit threshold on input power. If dot3ExtPkgOptIfInputPower reaches or exceeds this value, a Threshold Crossing Alert (TCA) should be sent. Reading will present the threshold value. Writing will set the value of the threshold. The write operation is not restricted in this document and can be done at any time. Changing dot3ExtPkgOptIfUpperInputPowerThreshold can lead to a Threshold
Crossing Alert (TCA) being sent for the respective interface. This alert may be leading to an interruption of service for the users connected to the respective EPON interface, depending on the system action on such an alert. This object is applicable for an OLT and an ONU. At the OLT, it has a distinct value for each virtual interface.
What is dot3ExtPkgOptIfUpperInputPowerThreshold?
This read-write value sets the upper input-power alarm threshold, in 0.1 dBm units; when dot3ExtPkgOptIfInputPower reaches or exceeds it, a Threshold Crossing Alert should be raised. It's used to detect a receiver being overdriven, for example after an optical patch change routes in too strong a signal.
